This project is part of a Butterfly Conservation/Lambeth Council project to improve habitat for butterflies in urban areas. Today we will be scything and removing the long grass to the west of the meadow area we installed and fenced off close to Brockwell Hall. We will also be rotavating and seeding the bare patches in the meadow area.

Meet at the fenced off meadow area.

This is located to the right of the first crossroads you meet when you come up from the main path from the Herne Hill Gate to Brockwell Hall.

NB there’s a second butterfly volunteer day in Brockwell Park tomorrow (Wed 11th Oct) – see our Event listings
